Y’all! WTF???? Did you know all the crap-talking your head tells you about yourself is learned?
If 💩-talking/self-criticism/self-hate is learned, then guess what?!
YUP, you can repair and relearn self-kindness, faith in your goodness and a sense of peace.
We pick these belief patterns up from our early childhood experiences.
We are both flat-out taught some non-sense from our primary caregivers about who we are in the world AND, we, as innocent little people, doing our best to understand and make sense of our place in our culture (family, etc.) told ourselves painful stories about who and what we are that we carry into adulthood.
This causes massive suffering, disconnection and fear.
“I am unsafe/the world is scary”-yup, learned
“If I were pretty (skinny, toned, white, black, Asian, etc.) I’d be happy” -yup, learned
“It’s hopeless” nope, another BS
“I’m different, I can’t . . . do that/have that, etc.” you guessed it
“I can’t make it without . . . a man (partner, rich parents, drugs, alcohol, etc.)” more of the same
Your true self is RADIANT. She is inspired, comforted, and loved from WITHIN.
If you want to be free it’s time to dismantle the crap that got placed over your radiance.
It is not an overnight job. It takes time, courage and tenacity. But it IS doable.
Remember, the world needs you to dismantle the shit that is covering your Light.
A step you can take right now: remember what brings you joy.
Just a moment is perfect. Do you like flowers, birds, the sounds of night?
What did you love when you were little?
Practice short moments and they will grow. You are worth it sweet one.
